However, there are one or two that I’ll be keeping between the two of us. You understand, right? I have to keep some things secret.

Most Romantic Places In Kansas City

The Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts

A show at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts is just what this couple needs. As lifelong students of music and theatre, there’s nothing that stirs my heart more than the talented artists on display here year after year. The beautiful setting, great performances, and of course, good company will surely set the mood for a memorable date night.

The Country Club Plaza

No one is going to convince me that I’m in Spain, Italy, or some other part of the Mediterranean region but it’s easy to let yourself believe it for an evening.

Known as the heart of Kansas City, the Country Club Plaza is a shopping district that exudes charm and elegance. With Spanish-inspired architecture, well-manicured gardens, fountains, gondolas on the canal, and twinkling lights, this is the perfect place for a romantic dinner or an evening stroll.

Loose Park

A picnic at Loose Park is an excellent way to spend time with your significant other. This beautiful park features a rose garden, a waterfall, and a large pond with arching bridges. The flowers are very well kept around the pond so try and come by when the tulips are blooming.

The American Jazz Museum / The Blue Room Jazz Club

I will admit, Jazz is a difficult style of music to appreciate and understand but once you’ve spent time here at the Blue Room Jazz Club there’s something that comes alive inside.

Kansas City is known for its rich jazz history, and the American Jazz Museum is the best place to experience it. With memorabilia from jazz legends and interactive exhibits, this museum is an excellent spot for a fun and exciting date night.

Green Lady Lounge

One of Kansas City’s most venerated jazz clubs, the Green Lady Lounge is an enchanting spot for a romantic date night. With live jazz music reverberating through its dark, sultry interiors every night, this venue creates an ambiance of timeless romance. A variety of local art on the walls, coupled with red velvet seating, creates an intimate setting perfect for lovebirds.

You can enjoy a range of delicious cocktails while getting lost in the soulful melodies of jazz. If you and your partner share a love for music as we do, the Green Lady Lounge is an experience you must not miss in Kansas City.

Union Station

Kansas City’s Union Station is not just another train station. Its grandeur and beauty make it one of the city’s most iconic places. I could stroll through the grand hall for hours and admire the details.

Not that long ago, it was abandoned and the city almost let it fall into ruins. However, a major restoration was done which is well documented in the second-floor corridor.

With its stunning architecture, amazing restaurants, shops, and seasonal exhibits, I think Union Station is superb for a romantic outing.

The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art

For those art-loving couples, a visit to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is a must. The architecture is so impressive, the art collection is world-class, and the sculpture garden is beautiful. All this makes it a perfect place for a romantic stroll.

Riverfront Heritage Trail

Take a stroll down Kansas City’s Riverfront Heritage Trail as the sun sets. This does take some luck to catch the good colorful sunsets but any evening should work. This beautifully landscaped walkway runs along the Missouri River and is dotted with stories of the indigenous people of the area, peaceful benches, and picnic spots, ideal for a quiet and intimate evening with your loved one.

Watching the boats drift by in the river as the day turns into the night can be a great backdrop on a great evening. So, if you’re looking for a serene and relaxing evening, the Riverfront Heritage Trail at sunset ticks all the boxes for a truly romantic experience.

The Majestic Restaurant

We’ll be doing an entire post on all the romantic places to eat in KC but for now, I’ll mention The Majestic Restaurant. It is considered one of the oldest jazz clubs in Kansas City.

Alongside its excellent meals and high-class drinks, its jazz performances set the perfect tone for a romantic night out. Check out each floor before you leave.

Boulevard Brewing Company

Beer lovers have a place in Kansas City, too. Sometimes it doesn’t have to be all about the romance as much as the laughs and a good time. Our city’s own Boulevard Brewing Company offers a wide selection of beers, a friendly atmosphere, and guided tours. This is a great spot for a casual and fun date night.

Go Ape! Zipline Adventure Park

Romantic is probably not the first word that comes to mind when you hear “Go Ape!” or even think about ziplines. However, don’t let that stop you from strapping up and careening from tree to tree in this urban forest. Located in Swope Park, you and your partner can let your adrenaline rush while letting your ape flag fly.

Nothing is holding you back from capping this adventure with some champagne or a full picnic spread in the park below. If you can time it right, head out here in late October or early November before they close down for the season. The tree colors are spectacular!
