The rooftop terrace at O’Dowd‘s Gastropub, situated in the Country Club Plaza, offers craft cocktails and a full menu in a chic setting. Also, plan to visit Boho Sway at Canary in the Midtown district for their amazing views and music vibes.

For a truly immersive experience, head to The Restaurant at 1900, where a rooftop garden provides fresh ingredients for their farm-to-table dishes. The panoramic views and seasonal menu make it a must-visit for food enthusiasts.

Of course, no visit to Kansas City is complete without indulging in the city’s signature dish: barbecue. Late-night barbecue joints like Q39 serve up smoky delights until the early hours. The combination of tender meat, flavorful sauces, and classic sides is a perfect way to cap off your night.

2: Artsy Adventures After Dark

Kansas City’s arts and culture scene extends well into the evening hours. One of the city’s most iconic events is First Fridays in the Crossroads Arts District. On the first Friday of each month, this neighborhood transforms into an art lover’s paradise, with galleries, studios, and shops opening their doors to the public later than usual. Live music, food trucks, and street performances add to the festive atmosphere.

If you’re a theater enthusiast, catch a late-night show at one of the city’s performing arts venues. The Kansas City Repertory Theatre and the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts often host evening performances that showcase the city’s talent. You can also check out some of the historical venues including the Midland Theater and Folly Theater.

Art aficionados can explore the city’s vibrant gallery scene. Venues like the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art frequently host special evening events, allowing you to immerse yourself in artistic expression. 3: Raise a Glass to Craft Breweries

Kansas City has emerged as a craft beer mecca in recent years, and no visit to the city’s nightlife scene is complete without savoring some local brews. Boulevard Brewing Company, a local legend, and the second-largest Missouri brewery, offers tours where you can sample their acclaimed beers, including our personal favorites, Boulevard Wheat and Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale. Beyond Boulevard, you’ll find a thriving craft beer culture, with breweries like Torn Label Brewing Company and KC Bier Co. serving up innovative and traditional brews.

The city’s love for beer pairs perfectly with its renowned BBQ scene. Many breweries collaborate with local BBQ joints to offer the ultimate Kansas City flavor experience. The combination of smoky meats and handcrafted beers will leave your taste buds singing.

4: Catch the Big Game

Kansas City’s sports culture has been electric for the past decade, and catching a game during your visit is an unforgettable experience. Whether it’s the roar of the crowd as they cheer on the 3-time and reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium or the sound of the bat cracking at Kauffman Stadium cheering on the 2-time World Series champion Kansas City Royals, sports events in Kansas City are a celebration of community and pride. The recent construction of our professional men’s and women’s soccer stadiums brings in fans from across the world to see the Sporting KC and Kansas City Current games live in action.

For those who prefer to watch the game in the company of fellow fans, the city’s sports bars are the place to be. No place has a better vibe on game nights than the Power & Light District’s KC Live! Block. This outdoor venue is a hub for sports bars, where you can enjoy the game on big screens and indulge in game-day favorites.

Additionally, many sports venues offer guided tours and Hall of Fame exhibits that provide deeper insights into the city’s sports history and legends. Any visitor to KC should certainly make time to visit the official Negro Leagues Baseball Museum near the 18th & Vine district.

When our family is looking to groove to the blues, BB’s Lawnside BBQ and Blues along with The Levee are must-visit spots. The city’s live music venues cater to all tastes, and you’ll often find eclectic lineups as far as Chicago, Memphis, and New Orleans that promise a memorable night out. So, slip into your dancing shoes and let the rhythm guide your night.

However, if you’re looking for something really fun and unique on the weekends, make your way just outside the city limits to Funkytown. This is the area’s only disco bar and dance parlor where everything is truly “funky”.
